Wordpress Connect
#31
Hi Lennart,

Yes, the error I stated above is due to Multisite functionality of WordPress. I think this error is fine, it just need some additional functionality to run perfectly. If I change the relative path, I get the usual error "critical error wordpress connect path invalid" which I doubt the plugin could not connect with WordPress. I tried not to replace or add something on the script instead I disabled multisite for a while until this issue is sorted. Smile

Since set_prefix is no original MyBB function, it should cause no issues. Do you run any plugins that modify prefixes or similar?

But if I look deeper at this issue, it seems to be a wordpress issue that has not been solved yet:

Hi Lennart,

Happy New Year!

Any new updates for our WP Connect? I am thinking about enabling multisite again for my website and forums. Smile

Hi Z,
as I wrote this seems to be a wordpress issue and not one caused by the MyBB plugin. We are not using set_prefix here...

So at the moment there is no thing that could be improved in the plugin I think. If you come across some debug info / other info that could solve this, I'll be glad to take a look at this again.

Best regards

Okay, here we go,

1. Download and run Putty.exe (SSH) [Image: external.png]link
2. Login to your server either root or cpanel.

Code:
You are not allowed to see code.

If accessing 'root' doesn't work for you, try typing the command once you entered as cpanel user
"sudo su -"

3. Now, you are logged as 'root'. We are now able to install runkit inside SSH. Just type the following below:

Code:
You are not allowed to see code.

Then, add this to php.ini:
extension=runkit.so

Restart your Apache server
service httpd restart

That's it! Now, run a test if everything is fine via

Cheers!   Cool

Just to add a small note to this. If by any chance you get a "-bash: git: command not found" error, type the following while logged in as root to install git before continuing.

Code:
You are not allowed to see code.

There is no proper solution for this without runkit sadly. You can try direct SQL querys but that is a very evil way and you'll have to update the plugin very very often.

Hi there,

I am currently building a community website with subscription as a bonus program. Subscribed users will have additional access in the forums and on the wordpress installation.

I'm thinking the best way to set this is up, is based on user groups, subscribed users will be assigned a specific group membership.

Questions:
1 - Will this connector also propagate user-group-membership ?
2 - And if yes, is it dual-sync or only in one direction?

Thanks !

Hello,
you can set the group for wordpress members from the MyBB plugin settings. It is a one way sync in this case.
